After discussion with the Commission, the applicants modified their application to a permit to build one non-electric 16x16 cabin with alternative plumbing. Having held the public hearing at their December meeting, Commissioners voted 6-0 to recommend approval of the permit. PROPOSED REVISION OF 12-1 THROUGH 12-5; ARTICLE 16; AND ARTICLE 13-1 THROUGH 13-7: Articles 12/16 deal with procedures related to Zoning Permits and Special and Conditional Use Permits. Article 13 deals with site plans and includes requirements for both major and minor site plans. Commissioners, after considering legal advice, directed staff to remove references to Conditional Use Permit and replace that term with Special Use Permit. They then reviewed the draft ordinance and made minor changes. Commissioners voted 6-0 to direct staff to advertise the proposed revisions for public hearing at their February meeting. The Central Blue Ridge Chapter of VMNs is conducting its 2010 training beginning March 13 and concluding May 30. Training requires seven Saturday sessions (9-4) of both classroom and field work plus Nature Camp the last weekend in May. Cost is $125 to cover instruction and materials.
